During the next several weeks, we will be learning how to write a research paper. You will need an index card box with index cards (it does not matter what size) and several source books. Please do not bring anything else to class unless I ask you to do so. Please do not remove any of your research paper materials from class unless you have asked first.

Sources
Your works cited requirements are the use and citation of at least:
3 Internet sources (see Mythology Websites) and
2 book sources
Most of you will have more than that. Make sure you write a source card for each source.

Note cards and Source cards
You are required to have at least 5 source cards and 50 note cards. There will be one source card grade and three note card grades – one for your first 10, one for the 15 after that, and one for your last 25.

Outline
We will use Inspiration to make a topic outline based on the information in your note cards. Although your outline will include a thesis statement, you will not be defending your thesis on your web page.

Works Cited
Your sources should be listed alphabetically and formatted according to MLA guidelines.

Web Page Guidelines
We will discuss design specifics when we get to this part of the project.
Style
Be consistent with all text and graphics. Choose a color scheme and stick with it throughout your entire site (on all pages). You may only use Times New Roman or Arial 12pt font for body text. Make sure your background isn’t too distracting and that your text is legible.
Page 1
Must contain the following three articles ( information must be cited using parenthetical documentation and internet sources must have active links):
-History/background (this will include birth, family, description, characteristics)
-Myths and Stories
-Other interesting info (words, phrases, astronomy, comparisons to other
mythologies, art, architecture)
Must also contain:
-Links to your outline and works cited
-Links to image page (if you have one)

Outline:
You will copy and paste your outline from Inspiration.
Page 3
Works Cited:
You will copy and paste your Works Cited page from Word and link each URL to its website.
Page 4
Images:
Any images that you can find on the web should go on this page. That includes pictures of constellations, temples, monuments, paintings, sculptures, drawings and anything else that is relevant.
