Facility Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician — Afternoon/Evening (12:00 pm – 10:00 pm)
Reports To: Director of Facilities
Classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Full-Time
Job Summary:
 
The Facility Maintenance Technician is to support the Facilities Supervisor with set-up and tear down of events, as well as perform regularly scheduled maintenance and complete work orders. This position will work closely with all members of the facilities department, staff, administrators, and the Parents Association, and be willing to work non-scheduled hours for major events on and off campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
This role will be assigned various facility operations and repair items as directed which may Include:
  • Performing Internal and external building maintenance such as window, door, or wall repair;
  • Basic maintenance of building HVAC equipment to retain operational efficiency;
  • Identifying and resolving potential safety hazards;
  • Painting and touch up of exterior or Interior walls;
  • Assemble furniture and office equipment;
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas;
  • Organize and distribute supplies, materials, and equipment;
  • Maintain cleanliness of the campus;
  • Operate building systems as required;
  • Help coordinate supervise contract housekeeping company services in evening hours;
  • Ensure overall security of campus as needed including the following:
    • Coordinating with officers in evening operations
    • Identifying operational security concerns and addressing them in a timely manner
    • Ensuring facilities are secure when not in use
    • Ensuring that campus is secured and prepared for following day
  • Manage traffic operations, minimizing congestion and ensuring safety;
  • Manage service contractors and projects;
  • Conduct regular campus rounds, correcting any operations or maintenance issues;
  • Respond to campus emergencies, managing the situation as required;
  • Monitor and respond to work orders to ensure timely completion;
  • Assist Director of Facilities and other Facilities Managers as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with applicable experience in a related field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Prior experience in a Facility Maintenance preferred;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail;
  • Electrical capabilities for basic repair and equipment maintenance/Installation;
  • Experience In general upkeep and repair of Internal and external locations;
  • Intermediate Carpentry knowledge for general building repair and maintenance;
  • Plumbing ability to repair and address leaks or drainage problems;
  • Interpersonal skills to Interact with employees or clients in a professional manner;
  • Dedication to complete tasks while resolving potential hazards.
