Samuel has been with EWS since 2021. Before EWS, he taught US science for a private school in Austin while also coaching football, basketball, and track and field. During that time, Samuel was the offensive coordinator for a state champion football team and track coach for multiple individual state champions. In addition to his duties as Assistant Athletic Director, Samuel is the Head Varsity football coach and the Head of the Track and Field Program. Outside of coaching, Samuel loves finding new BBQ spots and hiking around Texas. Samuel is also an avid sports fan, particularly as a Texas Aggie Alumni and Astros fan.

Kathy has been a teacher, Artistic Director and Music Director in the Houston Musical Theatre Community since 2009. She was also the Music Director/accompanist at the Kinkaid School from 2013-2015. She is originally from Kansas, where she taught Vocal Music for High School, and wrote and implemented a General Music Curriculum at the High School level. She joined EWS in 2015 and teaches Vocal Music, sixth-twelfth grades, and Theatre Arts, seventh-eighth grades. She is also the music director for the Middle School, Upper School and All-School musicals. Kathy also teaches a Musical Theatre Program for TUTS for kids with disabilities.
Kerri joined the Emery/Weiner Science department in August 2023. Previously, Kerri spent eight years teaching fifth grade Science and nine years teaching seventh grade Life Science. Kerri was involved in various leadership roles including Student Council, Destination Imagination, Odyssey of the Mind, Team Leader, and Science Department Chair. Kerri was awarded Teacher of the Year designations in both HISD and FBISD.
Prior to entering education, Kerri earned a BA in Psychology from West Virginia University before starting a seventeen-year career in College and University Student Housing. When Kerri is not keeping score for various EWS sports, she enjoys reading, puzzles, watching all sports, and traveling.

Lindsay Colvin joined EWS in 2022. Before joining EWS, Lindsay worked as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse at Texas Children's Hospital for eight years. She also worked as a camp nurse at Pine Cove. Lindsay loves spending time with her husband and their four sons, especially traveling and watching them play sports. Lindsay's passions include running marathons (Houston and Boston are her favorites), volunteering as a child advocate, and chairing blood drives.
Jessica has been with EWS since 2019. Prior to arriving at the Emery/Weiner school, Jessica worked 10 years at a private school for Infants through 8th grade, as a registrar, Infant- Pre-K teacher's assistant, and in the business office. Before this she worked 14 years for the travel industry with companies such as United Airlines, Walt Disney Travel Company, and Continental Airlines. Jessica currently oversees grades, schedules, transcripts, as well as assisting teachers with course placement, testing coordinator, and AP coordinator for College Board. She is an HUGE lover of anything Disney and Harry Potter. During her free time, she enjoys watching movies, walking her dogs, traveling and shopping.

Jared has been with The Emery/Weiner School since 2012. Before arriving at EWS, Jared taught in public schools for several years in both Utah and Texas, during which time his dedication and achievements in the classroom earned him a Teacher of the Year Award. He was also the recipient of the Rav Preida Award for Teaching Excellence at EWS in 2016. In addition to his current teaching and administrative responsibilities, Jared also sponsors the Robotics Club, Esports Club, and is one of the founders of “Meh”, EWS’s very own staff and student ukulele band. In his free time Jared enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, and sharing his love for pickleball.
