At Emery/Weiner, our goal is to help make the admissions process as stress-free as possible. Our team is ready to help and answer questions as needed. Once an account is created, applicants may access a customized online checklist that will help track their progress. The following are admissions requirements – please note that deadlines are not all the same:

  • Application

    Click here to access the online application for the 2021-22 academic year. The priority deadline for the online application is Friday, December 18, 2020. After the priority deadline, applications will be considered only if space is available.
     
    • If you are a current parent, use your Blackbaud Login Information to apply for a child not currently enrolled at Emery/Weiner.
    • If you are new to Emery/Weiner, please select the "Create Account" link to create a Login Account and Password. Once you enter the required information, click the blue "Create Account" button.
      • **If you have previously inquired, or if the system recognizes your email address, we may have already created an account for you. In this case, please email the Admissions Office and we will provide you with your account information.
  • Transcripts & Standardized Tests*

    Provide the Transcript Request Form to the applicant’s current school. Submit the following to EWS by January 15, 2021:
     
    • Final first semester report card for the 2020-21 school year
      • For schools whose first semester ends later, please submit the most recent grade report as of January 15, 2021.
    • Final report cards from the previous two academic years
    • All standardized test results and attendance records for the above grading periods
    *We understand there may be missing documents and potential gaps in applicants’ performance due to COVID-19. Please provide all available documents.
  • Teacher Recommendations

    Provide the confidential Teacher Recommendation Forms to the applicant’s current math and English teachers by late November. Teachers must submit completed forms to EWS Admissions by January 15, 2021, by email (preferred), or teachers may mail in completed forms to the admissions office.
  • Entrance Exam and Optional Assessment

    ISEE: All applicants must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). This year the ISEE is being offered to students remotely at home and at select testing centers. To register for an off-campus exam, visit www.iseetest.org. Please include our school code (447570) when registering. For students wishing to take the ISEE on campus, you must first submit an application for admission, then contact the admissions office to register for a small group test. Please note, on-campus testing is limited to first come first served. ISEE exams must be complete and scores submitted by February 1, 2021.

    -Applicants to 6th grade:
       Sunday, November 15, 2020
       Sunday, January 10, 2021
     -Applicants to 7th-11th grade:
        Sunday, December 6, 2020
        Sunday, January 24, 2021
     
    *To avoid a late fee, registration must be received three weeks prior to test date. All registration closes two weeks prior to test date.

    Character Skills Snapshot (optional): While an applicant’s character has always been an important part of our admissions process, this new tool allows us to further measure a child’s developing character skills. The Snapshot does not replace the ISEE or other parts of the application process. To learn more and register for an at-home assessment, go to www.ssat.org/snapshot. Character Snapshot Reports must be submitted through the EMA portal by February 1, 2021. For more information on how to send the report click here
  • Interview

    Schedule your “virtual” student interview and parent interview between September and January:
    Parent interview – only one parent or guardian is required to attend
    Student interview- all applicants are required to complete an interview. Register here: Middle School or Upper School 
  • Visit

    Tours: Due to the ongoing public health situation, our campus is currently closed to visitors when students are present during the academic day. Please visit our Virtual Admissions page to sign up for after-hours on-campus visits, virtual visits and events. 

    Jaguar for a Day: As an alternative to our typical in-person “shadow days,” this season we will be offering a video “experience” that allows applicants to learn more about the school day from current students and teachers at Emery/Weiner. If you would like your student to receive a customized video, please complete the online application then submit this questionnaire
  • Financial Aid

    Confidential applications will be available in mid-November 2020 at www.smartaidforparents.com. The deadline to apply for financial aid is February 19, 2021. All admissions decisions are need-blind.
