Levine Innovation Lab

At the heart of the new Sheena Science & Engineering Building, the re-designed Levine Innovation Lab is where imagination takes shape.

This vibrant, light-filled space invites students to design, prototype, experiment, and solve real-world problems—whether they’re exploring robotics, building models for engineering challenges, or bringing creative ideas to life.

From the RoboJags’ national robotics competitions to the CyberJags’ strategic esports challenges, the Innovation Lab hums with energy and invention. It’s also home to every Computer Science and Engineering class—a place where creativity meets code, and students turn bold ideas into real impact.

  • Upper School Computer Science & Engineering

In the Upper School, students move from exploration to application—taking the foundational skills they developed in Middle School and using them to tackle more complex, open-ended challenges. Every student completes a full year of Computer Science & Engineering, beginning with Principles of Technology and Design, then advancing into specialized electives in Robotics, 3D Modeling, and Computer Science.

Their experience culminates in a Senior Capstone Project, where they independently design, prototype, and build innovative solutions inspired by their own interests and ambitions.

  • Innovative Extracurriculars

The Levine Innovation Lab is home to two powerhouse teams—the RoboJags and the CyberJags—where creativity, strategy, and competition collide.

The RoboJags, our award-winning robotics team, competes in both the VEX IQ (Middle School) and VEX V5 (Upper School) divisions. Students design, build, and program robots to take on schools across Texas and around the world, earning the Teamwork Challenge title at the Texas Region 3 State Competition and the Inspire Award at the 2025 VEX World Championships.

The CyberJags, our competitive esports team, battle it out online in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Marvel Rivals, racking up points in statewide and national tournaments. Champions of the 2024 Texas Esports League Super Smash Bros Ultimate Crew Battles, they’re quickly making a name for themselves on the digital stage.
