Film

The Emery/Weiner film program is the newest elective offered within the Fine Arts Department.
It focuses on narrative storytelling and short form video creation.

Film Program

Lights. Camera. Action.

Open to 10th–12th graders, this hands-on elective immerses students in the art and craft of filmmaking.

With state-of-the-art equipment at their fingertips, students learn the essentials of camera work, lighting, sound, and editing while gaining real experience in scriptwriting, on-set production, post-production, and peer screenings. Collaboration builds not just technical know-how but also time-management and problem-solving skills.

No need to be the next Spielberg or Gerwig—this course welcomes all storytellers. Students analyze both professional and student films, sharpen their film vocabulary, and discover how video can inform, influence, entertain, and inspire.
