Elevating Excellence Campaign

The Emery Difference

Nearly 25 years ago, leaders from the Houston Jewish community embarked on a bold vision: to create a pluralistic, community day school similar to schools in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and other major metropolitan areas. The hope was to attract kids and families who would otherwise not continue formal Jewish education beyond their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. That hope has been more than just realized - it has exceeded what even the most optimistic dreamers could have imagined. Today The Emery/Weiner School is regarded as a top college preparatory school in Houston and one of the best Jewish day schools in the country. EWS has produced more than 1,250 graduates who have gone on to accomplish extraordinary things all over the world.
Now, with more than 650 students enrolled for the 2025-26 academic school year, our current campus must physically expand to meet the growing demand and to enhance our ability to provide a first-class education in all realms, on a safe, secure, and state-of-the-art campus.

Through a carefully completed Strategic and Master Campus Plan, the EWS Board of Trustees and leadership team launched the Elevating Excellence Campaign. This campaign addresses the School’s most pressing needs.  The new construction on the southeast corner of the campus will become the Sports and Engineering Complex (SEC). The new buildings will house the Levine Innovation Lab (a half-million-dollar asset that was confined to a temporary building), several new STEAM-focused classrooms, an enclosed gym, much-needed multi-use athletic space, new and renovated locker rooms, and a scene construction shop for our theater program.
