Why Emery?

Isabel and Dane

We were not sure what to expect, but we knew we were joining not just a school, but a community that fosters kindness, education, and big thinking as well as values and respects diversity. As our son now enters the seventh grade, we could not be happier.
Our son arrived at EWS with exceptionally long turquoise blue hair, as he bid farewell to elementary school at a very liberal public dual language school in Montrose, and began his new adventure. Blue hair, from a Spanish-speaking, multicultural family, and not much religious experience. We were not sure what to expect, but we knew we were joining not just a school, but a community that fosters kindness, education, and big thinking as well as values and respects diversity. As our son now enters the seventh grade, we could not be happier. He has learned so much and made so many friends that we feel he will know for years and years. He has come home talking about events from around the world and can speak with a maturity that makes gush with pride. As the sixth grade wrapped up, who would have imagined his favorite class would be Judaics? Who would imagine that a few other kids popped up on campus with their hair dyed blue and our son has decided he likes short hair, as it is more comfortable while playing sports. We have found our home.
