Experience the Difference

Middle School Student Government

Student Government Association (SGA) responsibilities include overseeing program development that supports school spirit as well as supporting the students, faculty, and staff in the Middle School. When school issues are brought to the attention of the SGA, their role is to act as representatives of the Middle School and present to the faculty and administration to help create solutions for the Middle School.

SGA officers are elected in spring for the upcoming school year: only Eighth Graders may run for Class President and Vice President, while all students are encouraged to run for secretary and treasurer positions. Grade level representatives are elected each fall. Eighth Grade has one representative, while Sixth and Seventh Grades each have two representatives. SGA meets at least once a week during lunch, in addition to responsibilities during Ha’ashara and outside of school hours. The Middle School SGA will have two faculty members as mentors.

Upper School Student Government

The Upper School Student Government Association (SGA) represents the Upper School student body, ensuring student involvement in campus activities. The organization plans activities which range in scope from school dances to Maccabiah (Field Day). Additionally, the group aids in the organization of new school clubs.

The SGA is comprised of 13 elected student body representatives. These elected positions act as a line of interaction between administrators, teachers, and students, serving to encourage and formalize student communication.

SGA meetings are open to all Upper School students.
